What are the ACT and SAT?
SAT stands for Scholastic Aptitude Test
ACT is the acronym for American College Testing
The SAT was created in 1926 and the ACT was founded in 1959.
While the Midwest and Southern schools often use the ACT, coastal schools lean toward the SAT.
Scoring
The highest possible score on the ACT is a 36.
On the SAT the highest score is a 1600.
The raw score of each section the ACT or SAT will be converted to a scale score.
The scale scores from each section will be averaged for the overall score.
